Nothing to do tomorrow so I thought tonight would be a good night to replace the alternator and clutch master cylinder on the 7-series. Going well so far. Oppo’s weekend plans?

CEL came on in the Ferd DD econobox today, either thermostat or coolant temp sensor, so going to replace both, fuggit.

If it’s not crushed by a tree during this windstorm, I am looking a car tomorrow that I’m sure I won’t buy, but really really hope won’t be crappy.

Thermostat has been bad for a while on the 7-series... Luckily it got stuck open.

The surprise element is half the fun! That would be if I bought it. I’d sure I’ll make another shitty “this car was shitty” post if I don’t buy it.

Well, have fun and don’t buy a shitty car. I found an automatic copy of my car on Craigslist for $800 so I may be purchasing that as a parts scavenge.

Brake upgrade on the Mustang. Swapping the single-piston GT stuff for dual-piston Cobras.

Excellent. I’ve lusted for a parts car for my pickup for years. But until I get more space, I’ll just buy a running vehicle (that I also don’t need).

Nice. rotor upgrade also? The 7-series has 4 piston fronts stock, in 1983! Way more than it needs, but some cross drilled rotors would be nice...

I took the e30 m3 out for a ride, i still have to put 300 fucking miles on it to dump the oil...its gonna take forever.. then i was going to change out the suspension this sunday with help of a local oppo, but my wife told me we have a kids birthday to go to.. also tie rods and abs sensors...i sweat your car so much still...

In ’83? Wow!
My car’s a ’95, and back then everything that wasn’t a Cobra received single-piston calipers. I’m not sure if the Cobra R back then had the 4-piston fronts, or if that only appeared in later models.
Anyway, the previous owner already fitted this car with wheels that will let it all fit. So it looks like all I have to do is swap the calipers, brackets, hoses, pads and rotors. Pretty much a direct bolt-on.

I hope this means you and your stuff made it through the storm ok? Very glad to see that.
EDIT: Just saw the shed post, I suppose it could have been worse, glad you still have a 7 to wrench on!

Thanks! The sheds just kinda funny at this point. We’ve hated it for a while. And yea, 7-series is good to have still.

Awesome. I could’ve done a C55 brake swap like that on the Crossfire if I kept it. Parts bin FTW!

Bottle depot/recycling run, brewery crawl for a friends bday, and maybe opening up the non-functioning turntable and attempting to make it functioning.
Also, always happy to see posts about the E23, it gives me an idea what it would’ve been like if my friend and I had bought an $800 manual 733i a few years ago.....

I’ve never seen another manual e23 in person. I really want a 745i turbo. Even if I have to build it...

I’ve just seen the one in person, it was a 4 speed. Had a cam, don’t remember if it was 242 or 262, long tube header and a straight pipe with a glass pack, and my god it sounded mean. Needed a heater core, and a fuel leak sourced and fixed......it was owned by a mechanic, and sadly it got crushed after we couldn’t take it home :(
On a happier note, here’s the only 745i I know of where I live

Damn that sucks. Was way earlier than mine if it was 4-speed. There’s and $800 parts car around here that I want to get and have around.
What size wheels are on that 745?
